Machining
Accurate, timely and repeatable machining of components for rough out or finish machining requires a wide selection of machine tools which are somewhat universal in nature to handle the various material configuration options presented and capable of removing the maximum amount of material in the minimum time to keep the processing costs as low as possible. Hence, innovative use of well equipped or outfitted machines provides a timely delivery of size and shape.
Further, the machining of componets after thermal processing can eliminate or substantially reduce the possibility of sub-surface defects in materials. Premier Alloys recommends proof machining after heattreatment when ever possible.
Premier Alloys is equipped to provide finish machining of materials to customer drawings from individual pieces to thousands of pieces.
Premier Alloys has a wide selection of machine tools for processing rough out machining to highly accurate and repetitive finish machining on both turning and milling operations. Premier Alloys can turn up to 84 inch diameters and up to 13 meters in length in both manual and CNC machines. Horizontal machining centers and horizontal boring mills add further flexibility for milling operations as well as contour milling using CNC controlled contouring heads and seat pocket bars In addition, Premier Alloys can bore holes in most any type of part or material using either deep hole boring equipment for 2-1/2" thru 6" holes up to 5 meters deep, HTS drillboring up to 8" diameter by 80 inch depth and trepanning equipment up to 34" diameter and 80 inches length.
